Seoul Well Animal Medical Center provides dental care, internal medicine and surgery for dogs and cats in Gohyeon-dong, Geoje, Gyeongnam. Its dental centre assesses visible teeth as well as teeth beneath the gums and their roots, helping owners discuss whether extraction is needed or tooth-preserving treatment may be considered.
Cats have dedicated consultation and treatment rooms. An individual waiting room with oxygen facilities also serves as a cat visiting space, providing a separate place for waiting or visiting an inpatient.
Dedicated dental facilities assess teeth beneath the surface
The dental centre has a dental operating room, dental radiography and equipment for root-canal treatment. Dental radiographs help assess the position and condition of teeth and roots that cannot be seen simply by looking inside the mouth.
Dental care also covers unerupted teeth, which have not emerged through the gums. Seoul Well considers their position and condition together with the patient’s age and surgical risk, rather than extracting every unerupted tooth. Assessment of a tooth hidden beneath the gums informs discussion of extraction or observation.
Discuss extraction and tooth-preserving options
Seoul Well’s approach focuses on whether a tooth can remain healthy. Teeth that need extraction are removed, while suitable teeth may be considered for preservation.
For a tooth with several roots where only some are affected, options may include root resection, which addresses an affected root, and root-canal treatment, which treats the channels inside the tooth, to preserve the remaining tooth. The endodontic equipment supports this type of treatment. The options for a particular tooth are discussed in light of the tooth’s condition and the patient’s health.
Aural haematoma care considers treatment options and the cause
An aural haematoma is a collection of blood within the ear flap. Depending on the patient’s condition, Seoul Well considers drainage and bandaging, local injections, oral medication or surgery, while also looking at what caused the patient to shake its head.
The general surgical principles are to drain the blood, remove clots and material formed as blood clots when needed, and address the space where blood could collect again. The particular technique may vary, and recurrence remains possible after surgery. Care therefore also considers the underlying condition alongside treatment of the swollen ear.

Clinical cases published by the hospital
These are individual patient records published on the hospital’s official blog. Assessments, procedures, diagnoses and follow-up plans apply to the patients described.
This patient had unerupted first premolars on both sides of the lower jaw. Dental radiographs located the teeth, and extraction proceeded after discussion with the owner. One tooth lay near the mandibular canal where a nerve emerges. During extraction, the clinician gradually removed surrounding bone, located the tooth with instruments and took further radiographs.
Radiographs taken for a patient with hind-limb lameness revealed an abdominal mass. Ultrasound showed a roughly 5 cm splenic mass and a small amount of surrounding fluid. Surgery found blood and clots in the abdomen. The clinician controlled bleeding and removed the spleen, separated the mass from the mesentery, the tissue supporting the intestines, and removed remaining mass tissue attached to it.
Tissue analysis diagnosed malignant splenic stromal sarcoma in this patient. The clinician and owner planned CT assessment of spread and regular monitoring.
This older patient underwent general assessment before the owner and clinician decided on surgery. They discussed the risk of existing illness worsening after surgery and planned removal while leaving two mammary glands. Tissue analysis returned a malignant result for this patient, and follow-up monitoring was planned.
This patient presented with vomiting and low energy and underwent preoperative assessment. Surgery found small-intestinal obstruction. A rolled-up sock was removed through an incision in the intestine without removing and reconnecting a segment, and the clinician checked for leakage of intestinal contents. The same patient had previously undergone surgery for small-intestinal obstruction after eating a piece of a stuffed toy early in the clinic’s history.
Aural haematoma surgery after drainage and bandaging
Blood was drained from this patient’s swollen ear and a bandage applied. After the bandage came off, blood accumulated again and treatment changed to surgery.
